| Horse breeder, trainer, exhibitor, Deena Johnson owns and manages Esbardee Appaloosas, with the sometimes help of her 3 children and husband, Steve. In her busy schedule she finds time to give riding lessons and pursue her second passion by capturing the horse on canvas. Reprimanded as a young art student for concentrating only on horses, she has gone on to win many art awards with her equine theme. Her knowledge of the horse anatomy was reinforced by working 9 years with a large equine veterinary practice. Her ability to capture the essence of the horse in drawings is uncanny. Her family acknowledges horses are her life and it is seen in her work. Deena will also paint your favorite pet as well. Portraits, cotton shirts or welcome signs, Deena says, "Canvas board or cotton, it's all fun." |
